Other Podcasts
Obviously, I enjoy this kind of thing. On top of a small but growing collection of audio books, there are some podcasts that I try to keep up to date on, when time allows.
Secret World Chronicle
I have enjoyed enough of Mercedes Lackey’s work to give any podcast she attempted a fair chance. This is by far not only my favorite work of hers, but it happens that my household is in love with the superhero genre anyway. Steve Libbey and a small pool of other authors all contribute, and the result is an amazing story.
This podcast owes one tribute to SWC: while many of my favorites express some personal thoughts on behalf of the author before and/or after each episode, Secret World Chronicle plays an opening and cuts straight to the story.
Come, Let Me Whisper
Russel Burt’s collection of short horror fiction is made all the more exciting by the Tennessee accent he delivers each story with. Good horror is hard to find, and this podcast delivers very well.
Escape Pod
Alright, I’ll admit it. There are some very off-the-wall stories posted here. There was a point, between Episodes 40-60, which I feel was a golden time for the Escape Pod which itself brought in a golden age of podcasting all around.
The host’s open, personal touch on the podcast is something that I admire.
